金鞭溪景区位于张家界国家森林公园东北部。金鞭溪发源于土地垭，经老鹰湾后，汇合琵琶溪、花溪、砂刀沟、矿洞溪入索溪，像一条银色的飘带缠绕于张家界峡谷底部，曲折蜿蜒，峰回路转，“山因水见奇，水因山增辉”在这里表现得淋漓尽致，在森林公园内以“幽”著称。主要景点有金鞭岩、千里相会、紫草潭、文星岩、红军亭、龙虾花、楠木坪、水绕四门等61处。老磨湾至水绕四门11Km。

  The Golden Whip Stream Scenic Area is like a piece of silver ribbon twining around the bottom of the Zhangjiajie Walley . With the path wind-ing along mountain ridges, the scenery of“waters and peaks contrasting pleasantly with each other”is fully demonstrated here. The forest park is well-known for its“tranquility”. This area boasts 61 key scenic spots, such as the Golden Whip Rock, Long-distance Meet, Purple Grass Pool, Wenxing Rock, Red Army Pavilion, Lobster Flower, Nanmu Ground, Shuiraosimen and so on. There is a 11 km journey between Laomo Bay and Shuiraosimen.
