凤仙花凸，草本。以花瓣组合似虾而名。主要分布于金鞭溪、砂刀沟等阴湿地。花的旗瓣和翼瓣组合似虾头，唇瓣蘘状似虾身，花基部延长内弯（或下弯）似虾尾。春发芽，夏成苗，秋开花。小花称“米虾”，中花称“河虾”，大花谓“对虾”，梗长者名“青丝吊龙虾”，花色金黄的为“黄金凤”。当地人以其醒目的大花种概称为“龙虾花”。花金黄或橙黄者，为牯牛岭凤仙花河齿萼凤仙花；花紫红色者，为窄萼凤仙花；花紫色者，为睫毛凤仙花。均为蒴果，内藏种子，靠果壳的弹力传播。

It belongs to balsa mine section, herbage, named for its flower petal combination like a lobster. It mainly is distributed in dank area, such as Golden Whip Stream and Shadao Ditch, etc. Floral ensign and wing petals combine the head; the lip petal forms its body, and the base of the flower curves down as its tail. It germinates in spring, becomes seedling in summer, and blooms in autumn. The small flower is called Rice Lobster, medium flower called River Lobster, big one called Shrimp; the one with ling peduncles called Green Silk Mourn Lobster; golden flowers are Gold Phoenix. The local fellows gener-ally call the big ones Lobster Flower. The golden or orange are sepal balsa mine in Bull Ridge; the purple red are a narrow sepal balsa mine; the purple are eyelash balsa mine. They are all capsules with seed inside, and spread with the elasticity of nut.
